If you look carefully, the two pictures are one and the same, but for their colour. This is in fact a parody of the depiction of Mexico in American Cinema. But is there some truth in it too? This is nothing but the politics of Cinema Making! In a movie, the faces of the characters, the description of the places, the hue, the intensity of light it all makes an impact in the minds of the viewers. Hence when one looks at this picture, a perspective connected to the colour or tonality is evident. The way light is used to shoot a film, the places where the film is shot etc. depict the director’s overall political & social stance. They also express the director’s interpretation of beauty. Thus, the aesthetic frameworks like Romanticism, Cubism, Surrealism, Modernism and Post-modernism found in art-forms of Literature, Paintings, Music are common to cinema too.
